About the role
Located at the iconic Sydney International Equestrian Centre, this role plays a key part in ensuring the venue operates safely, efficiently and to a high standard every day. Working across venue operations, facilities, maintenance activities and event delivery, the Operations Officer helps coordinate contractors, oversee operational readiness and support the successful delivery of sporting and commercial events.
This is a hands-on operations role that combines practical site-based work with planning, coordination and administrative responsibilities. The role provides day-to-day supervision and support to a small team of Service Officers while working closely with contractors, venue users and internal stakeholders to keep the site operating at its best.
Based at a single location, this role offers the opportunity to work in unique surroundings alongside a motivated and collaborative team that takes pride in delivering successful events and maintaining one of NSW’s premier sporting venues.
How to apply?
For your online application to be considered it must include:
• A cover letter outlining your interest and suitability for the role (maximum 2 pages)
• An up-to-date CV outlining experience, skills & achievements relevant to this role (maximum 4 pages)
As part of the online application process, you will be prompted to answer two targeted questions:
1.
1. Describe a time when you had to manage several competing operational priorities at the same time. This could include maintenance issues, contractor activities, customer requests, event preparation or unexpected operational problems. How did you assess priorities, what actions did you take, who did you need to coordinate with, and what was the outcome?
2. Describe a situation where you identified that contractor work, site conditions or operational practices did not meet the required standard. What did you observe, what steps did you take to address the issue, how did you communicate with those involved, and what was the result?
It is recommended that you use the STAR approach to ensure your response to these questions is comprehensive.
