• The Australian Olympic Athletes and Coaches grant governance project and associated funding agreements.
• Legal servicing of the Pacific Athletes Project and AOC community initiatives (excluding safeguarding).
• Negotiation of Olympics Unleashed Funding Agreements.
• Ad hoc support for Australian Olympic Group initiatives, particularly events and Work Health and Safety review.
Key responsibilities include:
• Provide commercially practical, risk-based legal advice, escalating material risks to the General Counsel.

• Lead consultation and negotiation with internal stakeholders and external advisers to protect the AOC’s interests and keep delivery on track.
• Maintain accurate records of advice, approvals, agreements and key decisions.
About You
You will bring:
• A Bachelor of Laws and significant post-admission experience, ideally as a Senior Legal Counsel or in a comparable senior in-house role.
• Proven governance and commercial contracting expertise, with excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• A strong risk mindset and the ability to turn complexity into clear recommendations.
• The credibility and confidence to engage with the CEO, executives and Boards.
• An independent, hands-on and collaborative working style with strong prioritisation skills.
• Experience advising Board sub-committees, and in sport and governance, is highly regarded.
Additional Information
