Join UniSQ’s Media and Strategic Communications team and help tell the stories of our people, research and communities across social media, digital platforms and the media.
Who you are
You’re a creative and capable communicator with strong writing skills, sound news judgement and a good understanding of what makes content work across different channels.
You’re comfortable moving between social media, editorial and communications work, and can adapt your writing and approach for different audiences and platforms. You’ll bring ideas to the table, enjoy working collaboratively and be confident building relationships with people across the University to uncover and develop compelling content.

What you’ll do
As Content and Communications Coordinator, you’ll work across a diverse mix of content – from developing engaging social media posts and campaigns to writing news stories, feature articles and media releases. You’ll help identify great stories, find the right way to tell them and get them in front of the audiences that matter.
Working as part of UniSQ’s Media and Strategic Communications team, you’ll help create and deliver content that builds engagement and strengthens the University’s reputation. You will:
• research, write and produce engaging social media, news, feature and other editorial content;
• develop social media content and campaigns that showcase UniSQ’s people, achievements, research and impact;
• research and write media releases and contribute to media pitches and media relations activities;
• work with colleagues and stakeholders across UniSQ to identify and develop strong stories and content opportunities;
• contribute ideas and new approaches to increase engagement across UniSQ’s digital and social channels; and
• monitor content and social media performance and use insights to help improve future activity.
What will help you succeed
We’re looking for someone with a strong communications foundation and, importantly, the ability to produce high-quality content. To succeed in this exciting role you will have:
• tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or advertising, combined with relevant experience;
• strong writing, editing and storytelling skills across digital, social media and editorial formats;
• experience developing engaging social media content and a strong understanding of contemporary platforms, trends and practices;
• an ability to research and write news stories, feature articles, media releases and other communications material;
• strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders; and
• a collaborative approach, good judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced communications environment.
