Inventory Controller

Job Description

INVENTORY CONTROLLER | BRISBANE QLD
$80,000 – $90,000 + super

The Business
We are working with one of Australia’s fastest-growing precast concrete manufacturers. In under four years, they’ve scaled from a single Sydney facility to five sites across QLD and NSW, grown revenue from $70M to a projected $250–300M, and are on track to become the largest bespoke precaster of their type in the country. The Brisbane site is the flagship – five acres, three undercover, 60+ staff, and a production line pushing out roughly 25 bespoke concrete elements a day.

With a strong pipeline locked in, Olympic infrastructure work on the horizon, and a major ERP rollout underway, this coming is building the systems and team to match their ambition.

Why This Role Exists
As the business has grown, inventory has been carried as a hybrid add-on to the procurement function and it’s reached the point where there needs to be someone solely responsible for it. With Epicor going live in September, there’s a real opportunity to set the inventory function up properly from the ground up. They need someone to own it.

Key Responsibilities

The Role
Reporting to the Ops Manager and working closely with the Production Manager and Procurement team, you’ll be the dedicated owner of day-to-day stock control across the Brisbane site. This is a floor-based role with real impact when materials aren’t where they need to be, production stops.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Daily stock counts and inventory control across 200–300 SKUs (fitments, accessories and consumables)
• Managing min/max reorder levels and flagging supply issues well before they become a problem
• Picking and staging materials for next day’s production runs
• Working within Epicor ERP for stock top-up, cost allocation and reporting
• Liaising with 15 suppliers and maintaining strong communication around lead times and availability
• Forklift operation as needed (licence preferred – training provided for the right person)

Requirements

Who They’re Looking For
This role isn’t for someone chasing a title or looking to move into management. It’s for someone who takes genuine pride in keeping things running – who notices when stock is getting low before anyone else does, who flags a better supplier price without being asked, and who shows up every day with the same disciplined, structured approach.

You’ll be working in a construction environment so this is an environment you need to be comfortable with. The leadership team is calm, culture-focused, and genuinely invested in their people. Monday morning team catchups, monthly lunches, and a zero-tolerance approach to aggression or disrespect. Humble, low-ego, and reliable is the mould.

You’ll likely have:

• Experience in an inventory, stock control or warehouse coordination role
• Confidence working within an ERP system (Epicor exposure a bonus, not a requirement)
• A proactive communication style,
• Comfort on a busy production floor
• Forklift licence (preferred, not essential)
Industry background in construction or heavy manufacturing is helpful but absolutely not essential.
